What have we been up to?

2019 brought many changes to CCHEI. We have been a little MIA on our social media accounts due to the schedule changes of our volunteers, but the new year has brought us NEW ENERGY! We are excited to share what we have been up to and what we plan to do in 2020.

Our SOIL Project

Unfortunately, the natural soil in our garden and orchard area is a heavy clay that is not favorable for many of the things we grow. The previous owners of the property did not maintain the integrity of the soil and land for many years. We have been fortunate to partner with a local coffee roasting company’s sustainability team and are working hard to get our soil where it needs to be. Keep an eye out for updates and volunteer opportunities.
